Visa Application
Patients planning to come to Turkey must obtain a visa or e-visa beforehand. Applications can typically be completed online or at Turkish embassies. Citizens of certain countries are exempt from visa requirements and can enter Turkey easily for tourism, staying up to 90 days from their initial arrival date. However, for others, the visa process might be slightly more complex, requiring additional documentation and time. To simplify and expedite your visa process, the Wannabetaller team can provide an official medical invitation letter. Thanks to our affiliation with the Turkish Service Exporters Association, we can officially issue these invitation letters for international patients. Preparing for Turkey
It’s essential to find out which documents you’ll need for entry into Turkey. We offer assistance in obtaining e-visas, traditional visas, or residence permits if you intend to stay longer than your visa allows. We also suggest booking your flight tickets well in advance to avoid missing your scheduled surgery due to ticket availability.
Additionally, our surgery package includes caretaker services. A caretaker who speaks your language will be available whenever you need assistance during your hospital stay.
Pre-Operative Examination and Surgery
Upon your arrival, our representative will meet you at the airport and escort you to a premium hotel to ensure your stay is comfortable and pleasant. The following day, you’ll be invited on an organized tour to explore the vibrant city of Istanbul, savor delicious local cuisine, and visit its most iconic attractions. Afterward, our driver will take you to the hospital for essential medical examinations required to determine your eligibility for surgery. Typically, the test results will be ready either on the same day or the following day. Subsequently, you’ll have an in-person consultation with your doctor.
After completing all the pre-surgery procedures, you’ll be provided with a consent form to review and sign. Once you consent to the surgical operation, you’ll be transported to the hospital to undergo your scheduled procedure.
7. Hospital Process
The choice of hospital significantly impacts the quality of your limb lengthening surgery. For this reason, we collaborate with one of Turkey’s leading hospitals to ensure you receive the best possible care.
Once your eligibility for surgery is confirmed by your physician, you will undergo the procedure at BHT Clinic Hospital, one of Turkey’s premier medical facilities. Throughout your stay, a dedicated caretaker provided by our company will be available to assist you with all your needs. It’s important to note that most private hospitals in Turkey follow Quality Management Systems aligned with both Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation Standards and the Turkish Ministry of Health’s Quality Standards.
8. Shortly After Surgery
Congratulations on successfully completing your limb lengthening surgery! On the day following your operation, we will provide you with a walker to assist you in taking your initial steps (except for the Precice 2.2 method, which requires non-weight bearing for approximately 2 to 2.5 months; in this case, a wheelchair will be provided for mobility). A caretaker will be available to help with any additional requirements you may have. Around 4 to 5 days after your surgery, when you’re ready to leave the hospital, your doctor will provide detailed guidance on performing daily lengthening procedures, cleaning pin sites, changing bandages, and strategies to enhance your mobility and manage pain. We will ensure you fully understand and can confidently perform these tasks independently.
9. Physiotherapy Services
Physiotherapy plays a crucial role in the limb lengthening recovery process. It is recommended to undergo at least 4 to 5 physiotherapy sessions each week during the initial 2-3 months following surgery. The frequency and duration of subsequent physiotherapy sessions should be determined in consultation with your doctor. 10. A Few Months After the Surgery
Typically, patients can return to their regular daily activities and walk independently within approximately 5-6 months following surgery.
